An Atheist dies and arrives in Heaven:
God: “Welcome my good and faithful servant!”
Atheist: Stunned says “What? Heavens for real, and I made it in?
God: “Of course its real. You made it in because of doing what was right without the fear of punishment for not doing it, or the reward of heaven for doing it. That’s honest morality without fear or coercion. Nice job!”
Atheist: “But, I’m an atheist, I didn’t even believe in you, the bible, or that any of this existed!”
God; “Oh, that’s not surprising, and makes perfect sense as the theologians have made the Bible so confusing and made me sound like a psychotic tyrant with all their additions and contradictions they’ve written in the Bible. Do you think I would write such nonsense? Well, obviously you didn’t, but so many do. They actually believe I can engrave stone tablets at will, but I need them to write a book! How stupid, I did neither, that was all man’s doing. The truth is, you don’t need a book to tell you how to live. You were created in my image and likeness which means you already have everything you need within you. You made it in because you passed the test, because you didn’t just blindly believe what the lost wrote about me.”
Atheist: “But how am I your good and faithful servant when I’ve never preached the gospel or served organized religion?”
God: “Well, for several reasons actually. For starters, you lived the gospel by treating others the way you wanted to be treated, it’s that simple. Secondly, you doubted all those stories about me “commanding others” to murder people, commit genocide, bash heads against rocks, kill innocent babies, and all those other atrocities the theologians wrote in the Bible. And your doubt was correct. I would never do those things, I mean, really, who in their right mind would think I kill innocent babies? I know you didn’t believe that, but unfortunately many of my “supposed” followers do. You see, the theologians wrote those things in the bible to justify their own actions, they simply added “God commanded” to their misdeeds and the credulous believe it as if its “the gospel” just because its in a book that they say I wrote. Unquestioning imbeciles! But to be fair, I did give them freewill to make their own choices, and so they did, and were duped by the very people who we’re supposed to guide them!”
Atheist: “But then, isn’t their belief the fault of those who lied to them?”
God: “Never! You are always the one responsible for what you choose to believe. Look at yourself as an example. Were you duped by the liars or the believers? No, because you took personal responsibility for what you believed. In fact, you risked (we’ll not really because there is no such thing) but based on what the believers were trying to scare you with, you risked eternal torment in hell to get to the truth. Now that’s having trust in yourself, and that’s one of the main lessons you’re supposed to learn on earth!”
Atheist: “Wow, you’re blowing my mind right now. So, it was me being skeptical, asking a lot of hard questions and doubting the “official narrative” of church leaders that, well for lack of a better word “saved” me?”
God: “Absolutely. I created human beings with reason, common sense, skepticism and doubt for a purpose. So that you could use it when you hear or read things that just don’t sit right, to arrive at a logical truthful conclusion. I want you to question what you’ve read or were told to get to the truth, so you wouldn’t be deceived. But it’s arduous to search for truth, and many humans just won’t put the effort into finding it and would rather just blindly believe those in positions of authority. “Believe” and “have faith” are probably the two dumbest things the church has ever come up with to keep people stupid, because it keeps those that do it from asking, seeking and knocking to get to the truth.”
Atheist: “So then, without knowing it, I was actually doing the right thing by doubting and asking questions?”
God: “But you did know it was right to stop and ask questions, it felt right to you, and it should have. You see, you did what you’re naturally created to do, you didn’t suppress your doubt to conform to the status quo, to fit in with other believers and live a lie. Many believers do this knowing deep down its wrong. That’s how blind the believers are, they actually believe I don’t know they doubt and want to ask so many questions. But they fear not being accepted by other believers more than they fear being wrong about what they believe. And so, they make a terrible mistake believing and having faith as those in authority command them too. If someone is stopping you from asking question or doesn’t have any better answer then “just have faith” there’s a reason for that, and it’s because they don’t know the truth and don’t want you to know or search for yourself, because then you would know they’re a fraud. You see, much of this world is about control, control over your mind, and whoever controls your thoughts controls you. That’s why you made it, you would not submit your mind to authority, you wouldn’t allow others to control your thoughts. It’s summed up in that quote you know so well; “Those whose lives are governed by rules, dogma and fear can only do what they’re told to do, the option for self-direction is non-existent for the blindly obedient!” That statement is absolute truth.”
Atheist: “So, what happens to all those believers who’ve been led astray, who’ve basically lived a lie just to try and gain approval from their family and friends and earn a place in heaven?”
God: “They’re going to spend a little time in hell.”
Atheist: “In hell? So hell does exist? Doesn’t that seem harsh, to send them to hell for all eternity just for not living an honest life?”
God: “Oh, there’s another lie the church and its believers have been spewing for far too long. To set the record straight, its called hell not because it’s some lake of burning fire, where this made up character they call satan runs around with a pitchfork tormenting you to death. How stupid does that sound, right! A red man with a pitchfork and a pointy tail, that’s hilarious, well not really, its sick and sad really, but what’s amazing and a true unfortunate miracle is that some human beings actually believe it! Anyway, it’s called hell because it feels like hell psychologically and emotionally when the credulous lazy believers must actually stop, doubt, question and think through what they’ve heard or read and arrive at the correct conclusion or truth. And when they do this sincerely, they then abruptly awaken to the fact of their mistake of blindly believing others. And it can hurt so bad once they realize it that it can take some time for them to heal from it, and thus they’re spending “eternity” in hell because when you go through this radical transformation it can feel like its lasting forever. And to add fuel to the fire so to speak, I have a former Atheist teach the class! How’s that for ironic, the non-believers are teaching the believers how to get to the truth. Now that’s got to feel like hell for sure! But to be serious, eventually everyone sees that there really are no believers/non-believers, there’s only the truth that you’re all my children, we’re all one and I would never let any of you fail. Does a good Father allow his children to suffer until you learn your lessons, yes, but fail forever and be tormented in a lake of fire, no, a true Father would never do that to his children. The whole purpose is to make you an independent self-responsible human being who can stand on your own two feet. A true parent doesn’t want his children to be dependent upon him forever. Eventually they need to grow up. Now, I have a class for you to teach.”
