who am I? [really?]
what is "me and my story"?

Sure, I suppose they are different pursuits. Psychology is more about looking at personality, habits, beliefs, 'what makes you tick', a persons mental condition. Philosophy seems more about looking at the 'big ticket items', those types of questions which can be debated, but without any clear consensus. I think looking at yourself from a psychological perspective is valuable, it seems helpful in answering the 'who am I' question, or maybe better said ... who I am not. Philosophy seems to lead to a whole bunch of thinking, which like I said earlier ... 'gets the ball rolling', but a persons word-answers will likely be lacking in some regard. However insights through direct experience sometimes occurs when your mind is still.

I share a few quotes that pertain to this thread, from a very wide minded individual.
“It’s clearly a crisis of two things: of consciousness and conditioning. We have the technological power, the engineering skills to save our planet, to cure disease, to feed the hungry, to end war; But we lack the intellectual vision, the ability to change our minds. We must decondition ourselves from 10,000 years of bad behavior. And, it’s not easy.”
“Ego is a structure that is erected by a neurotic individual who is a member of a neurotic culture against the facts of the matter. And culture, which we put on like an overcoat, is the collectivized consensus about what sort of neurotic behaviors are acceptable.” “Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up.” “You have to take seriously the notion that understanding the universe is your responsibility, because the only understanding of the universe that will be useful to you is your own understanding.”
“The cost of sanity, in this society, is a certain level of alienation.”
“You are a divine being. You matter, you count. You come from realms of unimaginable power and light, and you will return to those realms.”
“The artist’s task is to save the soul of mankind; and anything less is a dithering while Rome burns. Because of the artists, who are self-selected, for being able to journey into the Other, if the artists cannot find the way, then the way cannot be found.”

Psychology or Philosophy, which pursuit is of more help to the spiritual seeker? Psychology is an academic and applied discipline that involves the scientific study of mental functions and behaviors.Philosophy is the study of general and fundamental problems, such as those connected with reality, existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind, and language.Ones psychology or psyche will determine ones philosophy, thus to come to know thyself innately can radically change ones philosophy. Thus the two go hand in hand and are really one as when one studies the funda-"mental" problems they are lead to their own psyche or mental state which is the origination of all of ones experience of life, hence "Sophia" which literally means wisdom will reveal to you her "Philo" or love which the word philo-sophy which means the love of wisdom, is really the revealing of truth. In other words, if one really loves wisdom one will look within them self to see that it is no other than yourself that is the cause of all your "problems" hence the timeless teaching to "know thyself" is wisdom in action because when you make the sincere effort to know truth the love of the beyond reveals it innately through wisdom or ones intuitive perceptions, when you know yourself innately, only then can you even begin to understand the world. The universe works with you, to help you, its not against you, but it will not do it for you. never give up on yourself, divine love is perfectly just, and its law of reciprocal action works in both directions to balance the scales, but only you hold all the power to change direction, this is your volition. so what benefits the seeker the most, seek ye first the kingdom of heaven and it is within you, not some place your going to when you die, know yourself, know why you think what you think, where your thoughts come from, how they manifest and how they create your feelings. get to know who or what exactly this "I" "Me" "my" TRULY is, not what you believe it to be, but what exactly it is. Here's a hint, the female receives because it is submissive, the male gives because it is action, thus to come to learn, to understand oneself, one must practice the feminine and open oneself up to receive it, here humility and humbleness go a long way, simply know you don't know and be patient. Everything in life has BOTH polarities, to be unbalanced is to be one sided, off center, to not have brought into harmony both the female and male or negative and positive energies within yourself. remove your masks and be not afraid to let your light shine. how does light work?

What the academics call psychology, their textbooks and theories, are practically valueless in my opinion. Real knowledge of the human psyche is best gained by experience and evaluation of one's experience by oneself, which requires some sort of innate wisdom to be effective. I find other people to be of little use in teaching one anything directly. But every person can be learnt from by observing and pondering their actions, feelings and the results thereof. But the most important source of psychological knowledge is the domain of art: the great soapies, movies, drama, novels, poetry and music of the great genii. These genii distill the knowledge of the soul from their own inspiration and experience, and make it accessible to us by their art works.

This reply is of the great genii, as it is a work of art in itself, a distillation of knowledge from the soul of ones experience and inspiration to share it and make it accessible to all, but only those who read it with sincere eyes (feminine energy-receptivity) and take it inside them self can gain its simple timeless wisdom. Thank you these words particularly are of immense importance for the seeker of truth, thus they bear repeating: "I find other people to be of little use in teaching one anything directly. But every person can be learnt from by observing and pondering their actions, feelings and the results thereof". This is the way to come to; "Know Thyself" and in truth this is what all serious seekers are after regardless of if they know it or not.
