I am seldom tempted to pursue offered links without considerable persuasion or convincing recommendation - and your critique (reply #74 to the bare-looking link in reply #73) was not calculated to stampede me into a rush for the link ;D ;D ;D - however perfect!

However, I do repent me of my words of fierce disdain for the estimable E Tolle, whom I savaged elsewhere on this forum.
As my main teacher advises, "all beliefs of all men are sequins on the robe of the One and All".
I do also wish to reaffirm once again, and announce to the whole world, my unwavering beliefs in Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty, Jupiter (hurler of thunderbolts), the Truth Fairy, the Easter Bunny (who taught me to guzzle chocolate), Father Christmas (Santa), who opened me to the possibilities of traversing chimneys and the benedictions of presents...

AUTONOMOUS existing or capable of existing independently responding, reacting, or developing independently of the wholesounds like a flawed plan to me ...

auto-"ones self" and nomos-"law" hence to be self governed and not part of the heard or masses.
I would say that Jesus, Buddha, Lao-Tsu and the like are autonomous not because they see them self as above or separate of the heard, but because the heard sees itself as separate from those who are governed autonomously.
one can see how ones perceptions, the filters it sees through will determine what it sees or how it sees things. when one sees with no filters it sees the whole.
Remember, definitions are based on the belief in separation and not unity, they are the result of someones interpretation of an innate feeling, or a physical thing which I suppose feelings may be a physical thing even though its not seen.

well yeah, duh, I'd say Jesus/Buddha et all, are the 1% er's ... or .0001 .. all words are innately ambiguous and incomplete other than silent communication, do you have a better solution?

they are 1% er's because they choose to be, not because its not possible or they had something special that others don't have. if their Way of life was practiced by more and more (which is slowly becoming the case), it would become the norm and then it would be the ignorant, controlling, power hungry, arrogant and conceited that would be the 1% er's instead of The Way that is being practiced now. herds follow herds whether to the slaughter or to the feast. I would love to try silent communication through facial expressions and gestures of the body/hands or even grunts, but no words. This would help the insanity I think, it can't get much worse. like right now, I am giving you a thumbs up and a wink but you can't see it.

patented
1. Characteristic of, unique to, or originated by a particular person or group: 2. Protected or conferred by a patent or letters patent:
1 not 2 ;D

right, and unless "you" created the ability to think up words, ideas, or whatever which "you" and no one else did either, then not "you" nor anyone can claim ownership of anything.

What I want to say seems to fit here like a glove.
The idea of a "word of the day" is at times a powerful one.
And just yesterday I found one word very much in my mind, as a sort of particularly beautiful and valuable specimen.
(serene)
It made me think of all the most serene people who had served as examples or roll-models or inspirations to me.
It makes a slight change of flavour when I substitute other similar words such as tranquil, calm, happy, poised, etc.
Usually in a case like this my mind wants always to search for my favourite occurrences of the word in literature.
Top one for me today: "yet never did I breathe its pure serene" (John Keats)
