Funny how certain words will pop up from time to time and they will cause you to pause for a moment and reflect upon its meaning in your personal life
Was watching the movie Seven days in Utopia this morning, about a golfer facing adversity, and he stumbled upon some mentor. One of the instructor's first lessons was about first finding the conviction in your processes.
I kinda have brought myself to a point where I have very few beliefs. I think I have overshot to the downside. I can't think of one thing I have any conviction in.
This has brought me to a rather peaceful place, but not without a price. Like the golfers admonishment not to get too high after a good shot, or too low after a bad one. Somewhat devoid of feelings though.
Love Hillary Swank, and Sam Rockwell and I thought that movie was OK but yes, the real life chick who did all that for her brother ... impressive.
Did you see The Sunset Limited? Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L Jackson. Two guys in one room .. talking .. and that's it. Not exactly the kinda script one usually finds, more like a play I suppose, but it was written by Cormac McCarthy, and I really enjoyed it. Very deep, spiritually themed movie.
I saw Hillary Swank as representing God or Truth and Sam Rockwell as the lost "me" letting myself be controlled by my thoughts, by the world. Truth never gives up, always there, always reaching for you and then one day after great suffering and struggle you finally surrender, admit you can't do it anymore, can't live the lie, you accept yourself as you truly are and just at that same moment that which never gave up on "you" comes and catches you and stops you from falling and lifts you up to a place you can never come back from because it never gave up on itself! I know this is a little deep but thats how I felt watching it. It is said that only truth is communicated when people sit inside a silent room and say nothing!
"Warrior am I and from the battle I emerge Triumphant"
I bet your wife loves going to the movies with you. lol
I think people often see what they want to see, they "adapt" the movie (or whatever) to fit in to their lives. Your spiritual work probably causes you to see "your work" manifesting in a great many ways.
I say, good luck seeing anything that isn't Truth.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I have no opinion on that Jacque Fresco character, or their "movement". But I thought the initial soloiquay in the first movie was pretty good, and the first part about Horus and the sun god business as well. And the George Carlin bit is classic.
As for the world ending business ... I'm not sure what to make of that. I think there is a lot going on right now though, with war, talk of war, revolutions, and a faulty economic system in a very fragile state. And that wacky Mayan calender thingy next year, lol.
Do you put any stock in that Dec 21 21012 prediction?
