no I don't think the world would be a better place if more people were consciously aware of their ignorance, slumbering, dream world of egotistical self absorbed thoughts and dogmatic unquestioning, separating blind beliefs that are the main cause of all wars, control institutions and raping and pillaging of the great Mother, of hooray for me and mine and to hell with everyone else...I KNOW IT SHALL BE!
Yea, that's most of the worlds attitude popee: "I'm not getting involved, I'm OK in my little glass house, my little bubble of happy happy time, there's nothing I can do anyway, its not my fault, its just the way life is", blah blah blah, ignorant, pathetic, fearful, undignified, unhelpful, unhumanitarian, way of the world!
I blame them not, forgive them Father, for they know not what they do! But I do know, I have awakened, I do see truth, I do feel others suffering, I can hear their fear and see their insecurity in their words and eyes and I do long to help set them free from the great deceiver which is nothing more than ignorance, which is a result of the conditioning of society, which is a result of unquestioning the status quo or the thoughts we all have been conditioned with, the accepted, dogmatic standards that have been preached for the past few thousand years and people accepted out of fear of punishment which did what, led them to blindly accept, not to question authority so hence the present world we live in today of unaware, close minded or uncreative thinking, materialistically addicted, technology is the Savior believing, pill popping, lost, lazy, beautifully created, perfectly capable, self saving, but scared humanity.
Man is standing on the trap door of extinction, with his ego clenched tightly on the drop lever and the noose of materiality wrapped so tightly around his neck that he's cutting off the source of life he so desperately needs to awaken himself out of his unconscious state of self absorption and come to the realization of the ignorant, self inflicted dilemma he has precariously put himself in. Will we awaken?

What a glorious panorama of perfection - with some necessary thorns of course - I see. Popee's reluctance is so perfect! Ws's urge is so perfect! Sometime, sometime, something will change. Of that we can be certain. I really couldn't care what it is - am I supposed to care?

Does the Universe care what happens on this planet? I doubt it.
Most people over estimate their own importance. That's the only problem I see, which isn't really a "problem", just a condition.

What an exquisite drama - more a comedy than a tragedy, in my opinion.

"helping others" "getting involved"
1) Why be a judge? 2) Why be dis-satisfied with the way things are? 3) Some type of law, regarding karma, is likely true. Why interfere with that?
They say the teacher appears when the student is ready. What if the teacher arrives a tad too early? An opportunity lost, I imagine.

Gurth .. when the battle of Armageddon begins ...meet me on the top of the hill, we can have a tall glass of lemonade under the shade tree, and enjoy a good laugh as we watch the show. lol

Popee, it's a date.
You want to see Durer's self-portrait of himself discussing the affair of the Martyrdom of The Ten Thousand Christians by Order of King Sapor of Persia - while standing in the middle of it, with his friend, W. Pirckheimer. He looks singularly unperturbed!

In harmony with the Tao, the sky is clear and spacious, the earth is solid and full, all creatures flourish together, content with the way they are, endlessly repeating themselves, endlessly renewed. When man interferes with the Tao, the sky becomes filthy, the earth becomes depleted, the equilibrium crumbles, creature become extinct. The Master views the parts with compassion, because he understands the whole. His constant practice is humility. He doesn't glitter like a jewel but lets himself be shaped by the Tao, as rugged and common as a stone. Verse 39 or the Tao Te Ching. Kinda what I was trying to say in the rant above, except I forgot about the humility part. hehe I took the route of: True words aren't kind, kind words aren't true. I was having the battle of Armageddon within myself yesterday, too bad I participated instead of sitting on the hill observing the drama from a distance. hehe

stay submerged as much as possible not detached, but naturally always yield; never exert yourself

stay submerged as much as possible not detached, but naturally always yield; never exert yourself I love that, beautiful - sounds in line with the Tao Te Ching - is it from that? I am thinking of going more underground.

Thinking is an ability, rather than a reality. The problem is that we are taught that "to think" means to sit down to ponder or contemplate, but thinking goes on automatically all the time. We would think nothing of thinking a thought like, "my boss never recognizes me" every few seconds and then wonder why our job causes us to feel bad when the only thing causing you to feel bad is you thinking the thought about your boss. Our feelings are the RESULT of our thinking, they act as a barometer to tell you where your thoughts are at. Simply, if your feeling bad its because of what your choosing to think about. This applies to every facet of your life as your whole life originates in your mind, in your thoughts. All circumstances in life are neutral, good and bad are the result of how you are thinking about the circumstances when the fact is they are neutral.
How you choose to feel as you go through life is the only "thing" you have control over, understanding this gives one the master key on the path of self mastery.
Its not that we're not supposed to think, its that we must understand that "we" are the thinker and that thoughts are nothing but harmless thoughts, not reality. When you really grasp this you become the master of your feelings and your life.
For a better explanation of this you can go to my Psychology of Mind Principles post.

In Greek mythology, Sirens were part human, part bird. They sang melodies so beautiful that sailors passing by couldn't resist getting closer to them. Following the sound of music, the sailors would steer their boats towards them or jump in the water to get closer. Either way, it always ended in disaster on the rocks.
Thinking can become a Siren also. You may be able to maintain control initially, but eventually you will fall under its spell, and become captivated by its weavings. Then you may start indulging yourself with fantasy or folly.
Don't stray from the present moment with your wasteful indulgences

“At any moment, we are either giving humanity the gift of our clarity or our confusion. And that clarity or confusion is affecting the humanity around us, the world around us. It is manifesting. It is taking form.” ~ Adyashanti
