The repulsion probably comes from resistance to the idea that the movement of the celestial bodies has a causation effect in having some kind of governing influence...I don't see astrology as being causal, rather, I see it as being diagnostic. Meaning that the universe moves in rhythms and cycles, and that astrology is a good means to see an already existing pattern in the micro cycles of the individual by looking at the macro cycles of astrology...it's much like looking at the large pattern of a fractal can give some insight into the smaller patterns of the fractal that haven't been observed yet. Maybe astrologers should stop using words like "you are going to be strongly influenced by Jupiter this month" and instead say something like, "the pattern of Jupiter indicates that this pattern might play out in this area of your life this month" That makes sense; not a causation but more of a way to show you what that specific alignment usually brings out in someone. A way to help one see a part of themself that they might have missed or not really noticed. I agree that the way they write or say things make it sound like an absolute and not a probability or possibility.

Gurth, I started reading esoteric astrology (Alice Baliey) and find it very deep, complex but yet interesting. She says's that our sun sign is our "present personality" and our rising or ascendant sign is our goal. In other words she makes it sound as though your trying to over come your present personality traits and learn or grow into your rising sign. Is my understanding correct? And then lastly that your moon sign is your past personality or present handicaps? Can you explain this?
What I'm asking is, are we to accept our present personality traits as defined in our astrological make up as who we are or are they a way of showing us what we're supposed to be trying to overcome in this incarnation?

and as far as our astrology discussions, where do we go from here? What other names or information would help me on my journey that you know now, that would take me many years to learn? I'm looking for a short cut. hehe

I can't explain it further myself, but my suggestion is: ponder what is written, then decide for yourself how you want to understand it. And what use if any you want to make of it. And those views of yours might change with time. Personally I feel they underrate the Moon.

haha .. you delete/modify as much as I do. which is funny behavior when you think about it especially here, where there's only two other witnesses/judges. lol
(guests don't count: they probably wandered in here by mistake, lol and after reading a few things ... assume we're all crazy) hehe

yea, mind can get a moving in some strange directions sometimes and then I return back and ask; "who wrote that crap" and it was me? haha
Why does no one ask anything in here? We get new guests and they all don't say anything? I put deodorant on geewhiz, what it something I said?

Gurth, been reading explanations of my life path number 7 and it fits me perfectly, I can definitely see deeply into the forest while at the same time missing the trees right in front of me.hehe is this our most essential quality, our set path for this round of life, our true nature?
I see us as limitless potentiality, with the ability to go in either direction, opposite polarities or we can find center and balance, to reside at the midpoint of our root of being which is not easy to return to or maintain or so it seems.
It seems no matter what anyone thinks one should or could be, everyone is a unique being with the same potential (Buddha nature) within them, on a cosmic journey to return to that essence through their experiences of life. It is not fair to say that any one person should be this or shouldn't be that as astrologically speaking you are just what you are as a base and can go either negatively or positively from that base or reside at it.
Its like life expressing itself in as many ways as possible, without limit, ever expanding, ever growing, ever moving to what end I don't know if there even is one which I find doubtful.

ws, I take all concepts, from astrology, books, people etc with a grain of salt. To me they are tools on offer or for sale: a bicycle, or a pair of shoes or skates. They may be useful for the time and place, or they may not. As Earth sign I tend to think pragmatically and realistically: I am that man who looked out from prison bars and saw mud, you are more the man who saw stars.

I need to let go and trust, have faith in the way things are, this is really my struggle, I am always trying to find the depths, "Why" is my greatest obstacle, I call it my unanswerable death sentence as it keeps me locked in the prison of doubt, not "it" but me I do it, I know this, but have yet to completely release it, I am a natural investigator, searcher, seeker, and to let go of this seems unnatural.
