After the death of the body, does anything associated with you, remain?
Complete and total annihilation is, perhaps, not very appealing. Which is likely why concepts like heaven or reincarnation are believed.
"Something must continue, right? (Please!)" lol

Or perhaps, it is that I-Me-Mine complex, which is so vigorously clung to, that should be examined.

I see no point in disembodied spirits. As far as I can see, they cling to bodies. I think they have done their job by the time the body dies, have served their purpose, and must give way, as does every single thing in the universe.
Everything changes at every instant. No thing endures, except the whole, which nevertheless never stands still for one moment.
Only one thing never changes, and exists for ever: the law of the universe. Mentioned in psalm 1.

Gurth, what is their job? What purpose have they served?
Popee, how do you know that heaven and reincarnation are beliefs, besides the fact that you personally have not experienced or remember either of them? There are those who claim to have been there (heaven) and others who claim to have been reincarnated. I am not saying there is or there isn't, I simply don't know.
I say, what does it matter? If there is something after death great, if not great.
I had no control over my birth (that I remember) and I have no control over death.
So is there a soul then? If there is, whose is it? Do we all have an individual soul or is it one collective soul in different bodies?
I once saw a Shaman, "supposedly" leave his body, go to another realm, make contact with spirt or whatever is on the otherside (if anything) reenter his body and unexpectedly lay his hands on a man who was watching, and the man burst into tears and was overwhelmed with a sense of peace he could not explain, profound was all he could say. What is this? Where does it come from? According to the Shamans they can enter other realms? Are there other realms? Where are they? How many? What are they for? When do we get there or do we or who does?
Thats it for now.

Why bother my head, why not just accept it? "What does it matter?" - it matters what it matters. If it matters to you, then it matters to you. It does not matter to me : it's not my concern : I have relinquished all pretense of control. So many questions - to me they are all superfluous. If they are not superfluous to you, then fine.

but.......what about........isn't life supposed to be..........but what if we.......oh well, I accept it! There is nothing I can do about it any way. And to think, I accepted the truth that the pen was mightier than the sword when all I needed to do was nothing. Humm...sometime......I'll......no I won't!

King of the castle. Moats, defenses, the ebb and flow of alliances.
Burn it to the ground, and never look back.

How does that apply to "death?"
It applies to everything

Who is you if your dead? How stupid! If your dead how can you take something? I knew this spiritual stuff was a farce. You guys are all messed up, like, ummm, like you can take something when your dead! Whatever duuuuuuude!
That was the response of a "literalistic" reader or interpreter of scripture! And we wonder why people go and kill in the name of "truth"
Those who presume to know are very difficult to guide!
I'm sorry pope, if my presumption of the assumed allegory was in error.
May I repeat:
Hosea 6:8 says, "My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge."

For my being, I wish to laugh it into the grave, what a way to go. No fear, no suffering, with swollen jaws hurting from the laughter of this Grand Illusion.
Living is too serious for life to be taken seriously. hahahahahehehehe
