Funny how certain words will pop up from time to time and they will cause you to pause for a moment and reflect upon its meaning in your personal life
==
Was watching the movie Seven days in Utopia this morning, about a golfer facing adversity, and he stumbled upon some mentor. One of the instructor's first lessons was about first finding the conviction in your processes.
== Conviction
==
I kinda have brought myself to a point where I have very few beliefs. I think I have overshot to the downside. I can't think of one thing I have any conviction in.
This has brought me to a rather peaceful place, but not without a price. Like the golfers admonishment not to get too high after a good shot, or too low after a bad one. Somewhat devoid of feelings though.

Just wondering: can you take a temporary holiday from the peaceful place, and then return when you like? Would such a binge be harmful?

Speaking of Conviction, have you seen this movie? If not I recomend it as a must see as its message is beautiful.
Its funny that the word conviction is used to sentence the "guilty" convict by those who judge him as wrong because they believe they're right in their conviction of what he did.
Hindsight is always 20/20 and very cheap but prognosis is priceless and few sell everything to own it!

Well, yes, I can return any time I want. It's not that difficult ... just stop thinking. There are zero problems in the stillness of no-thought. Residing in the here and now.
Does that mean ... escaping .. hiding from ? No. Situations in life are met head on. But I see little point in creating ... man made, mind made, fictitious imaginations.
Though I still do. Quite often actually. But, I generally recognize them as they're occurring, so the effects are muted.

Love Hillary Swank, and Sam Rockwell and I thought that movie was OK but yes, the real life chick who did all that for her brother ... impressive.
Did you see The Sunset Limited? Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L Jackson. Two guys in one room .. talking .. and that's it. Not exactly the kinda script one usually finds, more like a play I suppose, but it was written by Cormac McCarthy, and I really enjoyed it. Very deep, spiritually themed movie.

I saw Hillary Swank as representing God or Truth and Sam Rockwell as the lost "me" letting myself be controlled by my thoughts, by the world. Truth never gives up, always there, always reaching for you and then one day after great suffering and struggle you finally surrender, admit you can't do it anymore, can't live the lie, you accept yourself as you truly are and just at that same moment that which never gave up on "you" comes and catches you and stops you from falling and lifts you up to a place you can never come back from because it never gave up on itself! I know this is a little deep but thats how I felt watching it. It is said that only truth is communicated when people sit inside a silent room and say nothing!

I bet your wife loves going to the movies with you. lol
I think people often see what they want to see, they "adapt" the movie (or whatever) to fit in to their lives. Your spiritual work probably causes you to see "your work" manifesting in a great many ways.
I say, good luck seeing anything that isn't Truth.

Today's word: Zeitgeist - n. the spirit of the time; === Has everyone seen that odd little documentary, by the same name? www.youtube.com/watch?v=guXirzknYYEAbout eight minutes of lead in, followed by parts one two and three. Two and three are meh, but the first forty minutes is curious viewing IMO especially with Christmas right around the corner lol

I looked into Zeitgeist, even joined them, but decided finally they were headed in a direction I would not support: totalitarianism reminding me of '1984'. I think their islands in the sea suck.
I do suspect the world is due to end soon, but I'm entirely happy to let that happen. In fact I hope it happens before I die: it would be a pity to miss such a drama. ;D

Yeah, I know what you mean. I have no opinion on that Jacque Fresco character, or their "movement". But I thought the initial soloiquay in the first movie was pretty good, and the first part about Horus and the sun god business as well. And the George Carlin bit is classic.

The end of human life could happen any time, from natural causes. The world will still be circling its star.

As for the world ending business ... I'm not sure what to make of that. I think there is a lot going on right now though, with war, talk of war, revolutions, and a faulty economic system in a very fragile state. And that wacky Mayan calender thingy next year, lol.
Do you put any stock in that Dec 21 21012 prediction?

yeah, circling the star .. until it goes super nova .. then it becomes part of the star, lol of course, (and cue up up the Carl Sagan voice) that's billions and billions of years from now
Man will likely have killed himself off by then, or some other natural events
I see they're actively seeking some "replacement" planet, which is kinda funny considering the speed and distance thingys 8 months just to get to Mars, lol

Do you put any stock in that Dec 21 21012 prediction? Mayan astrology/philosophy-poetry is beautiful, and inspiring, but predictions? Nope. Something has got to happen every day, but we never know what.
