Addressing Shelley's lines to God:
"Nothing in the world is single, All things by a law divine In one another's being mingle - Why not I with thine?"

Organized religion is the divided mind trying to return to wholeness by identifying itself as a separate concept that it believes is the truth which keeps itself locked in the prison of suffering and from the truth of wholeness which it already is.
Without identity, what can't one be?

I believed I needed to go to church to be saved, but then I thought, from who? It said; "from the devil" I asked; "who is speaking?"

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” -Carl Jung “There is no chance, no destiny, no fate, that can circumvent or hinder or control the firm resolve of a determined soul” -Ella Wilcox “It is not because things are difficult we do not dare; It is because we do not dare that they are difficult” -Seneca “There are three kinds of people; those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who wonder what happened.” -Nicholas Butler Murray “You see things; and you say “Why?” But I dream things that never were and say “Why Not?”. -George Bernard Shaw “We cannot choose our external circumstances, but we can always choose how we repsond to them.” -Epictetus “Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world.” Joel Arthur Barker “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.” R Buckminster Fuller “Creativity and change are two sides of the same coin …. Creativity is needed to respond successfully to changes and creativity in turn, results in change.” J L Adams “An essential aspect of creativity is not being afraid to fail.” Issac Newton “The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn.” Ralph Waldo Emerson all these quotes are from the following sites which offer free ebooks and mp3 audio files for those interested in creating change in their life which in turn effects the whole of human consciousness. www.createchangeinyourlife.com/www.infiniteawareness.com/

Life is not a tragedy, it is a comedy. To be alive means to have a sense of humor
The 'truth' is only a way of speaking; there is not something labeled 'Truth,' that one day you will find and open the box and see the contents and say, 'Great! I have found the truth.' There is no such box. Your existence is the truth, and when you are silent you are in truth. And if the silence is absolute then you are the ultimate truth. But don't think of the truth as an object –it is not an object. It is not there, it is here.
Seriousness is a sickness; your sense of humor makes you more human, more humble. The sense of humor -- according to me -- is one of the most essential parts of religiousness.
Truth cannot be defined, although it can certainly be experienced. But experience is not a definition. A definition is made by the mind, experience comes through participating. If somebody asks, "What is a dance?" how can you define it? But you can dance and you can know the inner feel of it. God is the ultimate dance.
The beauty of facing life unprepared is tremendous. Then life has a newness, a youth; then life has a flow and freshness. Then life has so many surprises. And when life has so many surprises boredom never settles in you.
"The mind can accept any boundary anywhere. But the reality is that, by its very nature, existence cannot have any boundary, because what will be beyond the boundary - again another sky. That's why I'm saying skies upon skies are available for your flight. Don't be content easily. Those who remain content easily remain small: small are their joys, small are their ecstasies, small are their silences, small is their being. But there is no need! This smallness is your own imposition upon your freedom, upon your unlimited possibilities, upon your unlimited potential." ~Osho

But re the Osho quote: I don't know who Osho is speaking to, but if he's speaking to me, then my reply is : "B-------! Rather say 'Don't be Anything Uneasily!!!'" And I believe there are plenty of people who Should be 'content easily.' And there may also be people who Should be content uneasily, although I am inclined to doubt that. And I Do believe there are people who Should never be content! Each one of us has our separate destiny, and it's not for Osho to tell anyone what their destiny Should be. And it can also serve no good purpose. Am I free to lose my sense of humour? Hehe.

Another thing: Smallness can be beautiful, might even be better than greatness! More humility is needed in this direction, please, Osho!
- and less judgement... says the judge. ;D

While I agree no one SHOULD tell anyone else how they SHOULD run their life, knowing Osho's work and trust me it is radical to say the least, I think he is saying not to give up until you've reached liberation from your thoughts, or until your totally free from all concepts, ideas etc which is a contradiction to himself as small is an idea, a judgment etc. hence the problem with words.
Osho's whole teaching was about total freedom, celebrating life, total ecstasy, bliss, he was one the most humorous teachers I have ever studied, to the point that he may in fact have said that being contented easily was smallness just to reveal your egoic reaction to yourself, in other words he would say things in direct opposition to truth just to see if you were your own individual or if you would blindly believe him just because he was the "master" and you the "student" hence you still believed in separation. He once told some students that they were all enlightened, after they all celebrated and were joyous, he then told them , no I'm just kidding, I wanted to see if there was any ego left in you and your reaction shows me there is as "who" is enlightened? hahaha mind blowing, this guy could destroy or reveal your ego to you better than most, it's taken me several years to really understand his teachings. He wrote over 650 books, kinda egoic which he knew, once again revealing your ego to you by judging him as being egoic haha, this guy could f--- with your mind! hehe

Yes, he is a bit of a clown - and so am I I think. But let's look at the crux of the matter: you have a great knowledge of this guy, so please can you tell me: what does he have to say about the PRIMACY of the necessity of SURRENDER? If he can't at least match Swami Prabhupada on that point, then I am sorry to have to say - he's useless. Jokes aside for one moment please!

Thanks, ws.
I am impressed with your knowledge of Osho. And yes, these two links: I am satisfied now, Osho is okay, I pass him! (still in my role as Libran judge).
I see two ways to reach surrender. One is, as Osho says, from a condition of total despair. That's really how I got there the first time, too.
But I see another way too. Through the perception of intense beauty and joy, one is moved to such gratitude and love for God that one just wishes to surrender. And does. The beauty is simply too much for one!
